About This Listing

Offered is this superb Traditional 000 12-fret built by James Goodall during his Hawaiian era. It has a K&K Mini installed which sounds perfect! This particular beauty was built with an Adirondack Spruce top and nicely figured Bubinga for the back and sides. While not of the same tonewood species, Bubinga is very dense like Rosewood and produces a similar tone, although many folks argue it's voice is more complex than and the grain pattern more interesting. Other key specs include: 15-3/16" wide lower bout; 4-1/4" body depth; 25" string scale; 1.75" nut; 2-1/4" string spacing; Ebony fretboard and bridge; bone nut and saddle; Curly Maple purfling; Abalone fretboard inlays; and Waverly tuners with Ivoroid buttons. If you like the comfort of an OM but want the power of a dread, an 000-size guitar might fit you perfectly. It has lots of low and middle register thump, but with the clarity and note separation of a smaller guitar. Flat or finger pick, this guitar loves them both and I'm really impressed with the responsiveness of this guitar. Dig in hard or lightly pluck it, this guitar responds appropriately and the tone is divine. This guitar was built in Hawaii in 2006, but it looks and plays like a much younger instrument. The only signs of wear are some very light and hard to find shirt button scuffs on the back and a string change scratch or two on the Rosewood headstock overlay. The case has just a few small marks but it’s in excellent shape as well. This is the official Goodall case which is arched. I continue to be impressed with Goodall guitars and intend to keep looking for superb examples like this one. Highly recommended!
