About This Listing

Works great! No unresponsive keys or other issues. Not missing any parts. All original. Includes two-prong power cord.

This 51 lb. beast was one of Yamaha's top-of-the-line keyboards in 1979 (the CS-60 and CS-80 notwithstanding). Yamaha added a solo-synth section (and other features) to the SK-20 to get the SK-30. The even bigger/heavier SK-50D added another manual.

The SK-30 is four synths in one: solo (mono) synthesizer, organ, string, poly-synth.

Features:

• Solo section (top three octaves) has pressure sensor to trigger vibrato LFO, brilliance and (filter) modulation which are more intense if you press a key harder. With portamento, glide (notes bend up or down depending on the slider position), square and sawtooth waveforms (with pulse width modulation slider) and standard ADSR envelope
• Extensive organ section with nine drawbar-type sliders, three percussion
stops with delay and sustain functions and brilliance filter
• String section has three presets (low, medium, high) and is effected by the slow attack, brilliance and sustain functions in the poly-synth section
• Poly-Synth section has its own feet (octave and square or sawtooth waveforms), cutoff frequency, resonance, EG depth and envelope filter ADSR controls
• Excellent rotating speaker and chorale (ensemble) effects which speeds up and slows down like a real Leslie cabinet
• Split keyboard option at fixed point on keybed
• Separate tuners for overall tuning, poly-synth detune and solo synthesizer sections
• 11-pin, female, external Leslie speaker (tone cabinet) connector with on/off switch
• Proprietary pedal and "key code output" connectors
• 1/4" trigger in & out; control voltage in & out
• 1/4" pedal inputs for sustain and portamento on/off
• 1/4" pedal inputs for poly-synth brilliance; string volume; and overall mix volume
• Separate 1/4" output jacks for poly-synth, organ and solo synthesizer, overall mix and stereo headphones
• Standard two-prong plug with switch for USA/Canada (120V) or Japan (100V) voltages
• Wood-veneered particleboard sides and bottom front
• Metal top/back panel
• Particleboard bottom

Local pick up preferred 60527 (Chicago suburbs).
