About This Listing

Today, Lawman Guitars is Presenting...

A beautiful UBER RARE 1964 Winston, made by Guyatone in Japan Electric Guitar. What a time capsule, and it plays and sounds great! Comes complete with the original vinyl gigbag... Second one of these my finder has come up with. These are super RARE and very popular!

This is one of the Winston Logo Guyatones made in the mid 1960's. No numbers to identify it but my Guyatone expert assures me it’s a 1964 so we are going with that. ...All original .. Its in very good condition... just superficial dings and scratches. It has very good playing action and it sound really cool. Very dark and greasy!! This pickup is very powerful. I was not expecting that with this peanut sized body.

Here's some info regarding Kawai and Winston Guitars...

The Kawai Co was one of the true behemoths of the Japanese Guitar Market. The company was the King of Export guitars, producing hundreds of models with a massive number of brand names.

In 1965, just prior to acquiring Teisco guitars, The Kawai Company was showing over 200 different guitar models with over 50 different brand names in America alone! Some of Kawai, biggest customers were Sears, Woolworths, and Eatons in Canada as well as many smaller department stores.

Kawai used brand names such as Apollo, Decca, Domino, Ibanez, Kingston, Norma, Telestar, Beltone, Heit, Lindell, Noble, Prestige, Saturn, Truetone and Winston.

This cool guitar predates the earliest Winston Catalog of 1966. The nut measures 1 3/4 and it has a 25 1/2 inch scale neck. The body only measures 10 ½ inches at the lower bout. It only weighs 4 lbs 10 ozs. Cool little guitar!

Check out the original vinyl gigbag for it. Very cool...fits it great and even the zippers work! Great case for your very cool unusual Vintage Guitar!! See pics.

Now this guitar is uber cool but old and vintage so it is sold as-is no returns..However...I have been hand picking guitars for my customers for over 20 years now and my customers love the guitars I find for them....this cool Winston will certainly not be an exception!

Thanks for checking out our cool vintage guitars, parts and gear!
