I'm selling this really sweet 1932 Martin C-1 guitar serial number 50489. It has a beautiful, carved Adirondack spruce top, mahogany back and sides. If you aren't familiar with these, they are essentially a pre-war OM in nearly all specs except the arched top and tailpiece, adjustable bridge and pick guard. Some people have "converted" these to an OM by having them re-topped with a flat top. I have considered that with this beauty, but it really is a wonderful instrument in its original design. The tone is rich and balanced - somewhat punchier with more dominant mid range and treble register than a 000 or OM. Something you would expect from an arched top. Very fun and comfortable to play with a soft V neck and 1 3/4 nut. It looks to have the original bar frets with a lot of wear but no playability issues. One could choose to go with more modern frets. The tuners are nice open-gear, period appropriate Grovers that are not original and not relic'd. The pick guard is a non-original Brazilian rosewood guard mounted on the original hardware. Whoever fabricated the pick guard was a very talented luthier. In terms of repairs - for a 90 year old Martin, there really isn't much going on. There are two oval-shaped patches on the bass side upper bout that are really well done with closely matching mahogany. One of the best patch jobs I've seen. There are 3 hairline cracks on the top that have been addressed with cleats. There is one hairline on the back which I don't think needs any attention because the braces on the mahogany back likely keep it stable. Don't know about the finish, but if the guitar was refinished it was done so long ago that it once again has a really nice vintage patina. Ships in a really nice tweed case that fits it perfectly.
