For sale is a classic
tweed "Pro-Amp" guitar amplifier with all tube point-to-point
circuitry using a the true-to-spec 1959 Fender era 5E5-A design circuit--with
the exception of an internal bias pot so you can easily bias the power tubes when
needed. This amp has 28 watts of tweed power driven by two Tung Sol 5881 power
tubes, two EH12AX7's, one EH12AY7 pre amp tubes and a EH 5U4 Rectifier Tube.
This
amp chassis was hand wired by Michael Cucci and was built with only the
best components available such as output and power
transformers, Sprague
Atom and Orange Drop Caps, carbon composition resistors,
Carling switches, Switchcraft jacks, CTS
pots, vintage
style cloth wiring and the list goes on. The chassis is a true spec Mojotone chrome
plated steel chassis with the correct vintage lettering per the original 5E5-A
"Pro-Amp." The speaker is a 8ohm just like the
originals with the bell cover! The
cabinet is the vintage correct tweed material and size for a 59 Fender Pro style
amp special ordered from Mojo Tone. I
had to special order this cabinet to get the correct size for a Fender 59
"Pro-Amp." The stock tweed
"Pro-Amp" cabinets Mojotone has is just a Bandmaster cab with a
15" speaker baffle (H) 21" x (W) 22-1/2" x (D) 10 3/8". I wanted a true to spec "Pro-Amp"
cab so I paid the extra money for a custom build with the correct size (H) 20"
x (W) 22" x (D) 10 1/4". Sure
most people wouldn't spend the extra money for a few inches difference but like
I said before I wanted this to be as accurate in every detail to a vintage 5E5-A
"Pro-Amp." The cabinet
is finger
jointed built out of solid pine and I paid
extra to have it lacquered by Mojotone.
I went to great lengths and expense to have this amp built just like a
real late 50’s era tweed 5E5-A Pro. Every detail right down to an actual new old
stock genuine Fender "Pro-Amp" logo was taken into consideration on
this tribute to one of the great classic amps of all time.
The amp sounds like a Pro-Amp should from the late 50's except it has all
the modern reliability so you can feel confident using it for all your live
gigs or recording sessions. It’s can get
very loud if needed and sounds 100 times better than any current tweed style amp
Fender is mass producing these days. The
expensive Mercury Magnetics transformers, high quality internal components and
precision that Michael uses when he builds an amp are the reasons. Every guitar player needs a 5E5-A Pro-Amp in
their arsenal of tweed tools. They are not
only great gig amps but even better recording amps. Class A/B operation with touch sensitive
response will give you the tone of the gods.
I have over $1,700 dollars into this custom build and I have all the
receipts that I will include with the amp. The amp looks and operates like new. It has maybe 5 hours at best as I only used
it in the studio for a recording project.
No external blemishes, dents, scratches, or other problems. The amp works 100%. The only reason I’m selling is I just have
too much gear that I don’t use anymore on a regular basis so and I need the
funds for other things so it’s time to get rid of some toys.
Ask questions and I’ll be happy to answer. I'm a long time seller on e-Bay. My user name is also "reverbtank"
on e-Bay if you want to read my 100% positive feedback
rating . I'm moving away from selling on
e-Bay as they have raised the selling fees too much so small hobby musicians
like myself can no longer afford to sell on e-Bay.
