French Violin This wonderful full-size violin was crafted in the French style, somewhat more modest in proportion. It has been lovingly played for many, many years, and is seeking a new home! Give this violin as a gift to a serious violin student. It has the kind of tone you can only find in a handmade old European violin: rich, warm, expressive, and full of flutey harmonics. There is no label inside the instrument, but it is definitely not new, and is definitely French in origin, due to the styling and proportions of the instrument. The split-back is a gorgeous honey-brown flame. The fitted bridge has some rainbow color on it, so be warned! It was once fully rainbow, and has been sanded since then. The instrument comes with a hardshell case, and a nice, copper-satin violin bag. I hope this violin finds its way into the hands of a young player who will love it as much as I have. The violin needs a fresh set of strings (I would recommend Infeld Red), and a chin rest that suits the chin of the player. Other than that it’s ready to be played with an orchestra, string quartet, or solo. A great chance to own a piece of history, and a great European instrument at a reasonable price
