This is a handmade and engraved Darbuka with a fresh 8.5" skin head. The drum body is hand hammered to shape from brass, engraved with bird and flower motifs, and plated in nickel. It is 14" tall, the bell is 5" in diameter and the head is 8.5" in diameter. The drum plays well and has a snappy tone on the edges of the head and a deep thump in the middle. Im not a drum person so if you have questions please ask and I will be happy to do my best to answer. I acquired this years ago as I love engraving and metal work and it looked so pretty. I have years of experience with banjos and stretched a new skin head on this drum. Not sure of the age of the instrument and it has no markings other then "made in Syria" engraved into the side.
