Gold Tone Banjola

Gold Tone Banjola in very good condition for sale. There is a small ding in the binding around the body (see pics). The tailpiece cover was modified (see pic) to accept ball end strings. The modification didn't work as planned though because the string tension caused the cover to pop off. Other than that, there is nothing wrong with the instrument. Based on the serial number of 21304249, the manufacture date appears to be April of 2013. It does not have Gold Tone's newer banjola bridge with included pickup. Serviceable case included. I've read opinions that state banjolas sound like banjos with mutes attached. I disagree with this statement. It sounds like a wood body banjo (similar to a wood body guitar) with increased sustain over a normal banjo. It is quieter than a regular banjo but that's not always a bad thing (some people would say it's a good thing... a very good thing). I bought this banjola used about nine or so months ago to gauge my interest in this type of instrument and it's unique sound. I liked it so much that I ordered a custom Banjo Lute. The lute is nearly complete so it's time to move this one along.

I will consider trading for a tenor banjo, possibly with cash on my part. I'm interested in a large pot (~12") Style M Vega or R&L Orpheum.
