Hello and welcome to The House of Chrome.
You are looking at a unique 1980's era Electro Voice PL91 dynamic cardioid microphone based on the earlier E.V 671 model microphone with Low Impedance setting and perfect for singing as well as broadcasting as it was intended. This PL91 was virtually identical to the 671 except that the PL-91 has the painted olive green finish to reduce light glare as where the 671 model had the satin chrome finish. Otherwise both microphones were basically identical. This quality mic comes with a period E.V 358 model mic clip and black foam exterior pop filter.
You'll see in pic # 2 the PL-91 model with it's basic characteristics. E.V called the PL "Professional Line". The mic is appx 6 1/4 inches long X 2 inches wide at the tip. Very lite weight and easy to hold for extended periods of time.
This PL-91 has a very nice sound and quite strong too with 100% output. The "cardioid" element has excellent uni-directional capabilities as well. A warm, smooth tone that has just the right amount of bass. Not as bass heavy as a Shure SM-58 though.
As you can see in the pictures provided this mic is in very nice cosmetic condition with the only real wear coming in the form of a few lite scratches and small spots of lite discoloration. The stock painted handle is free of dents, fractures or pitting. The mesh grill looks very nice with zero deformation, odors or discoloration and a new inner foam liner / pop filter was installed as the original was all but gone. I'm also including the exterior pop filter as well for even better wind proofing. It's new and fits the mic perfectly. You don't have to use it with the mic but it does greatly reduce sound quality.
The on / off switch slides smooth and works without issue. The mic has a small locking mechanism to the side of the switch as well if you want to keep the switch in the permanent on position.
Mic is solid with no loose or missing parts. The XLR connection was cleaned as well as it was quite filthy. She's good to go.
The mic does not come with an XLR cable but these are easy enough to find. It does come with the period E.V 358 model mic clip that grips the mic firmly and looks great. The joint mechanism has plenty of tension and is adjustable. It will screw onto any mic stand you have. These 358 model mic clips alone are worth $30.00 or more.
Mic is an easy 8 cosmetically on a scale of 1 - 10 and sounds absolutely golden.
