Very nice and rare vintage Trio / Kenwood Model WX-14 AM/FM/FM MPX receiver. This unit features a single-ended 6BQ5 amplifier section with 2 12AX7 preamp tubes and has a true FM stereo multiplex tuner section. Front switches are power, AFC, MPX noise filter and stereo/mono mode. Front controls are volume, balance, bass, treble, selector and tuning. Has very bright tuning eye tube for station tuning. Rear has jacks for mag phono, crystal/ceramic phono, aux and tape out. Connections for 1 set of speakers, AM & FM antennas, ground, AC outlet. Switch on chassis for 110-220 power selector. Dimension control and fuse on chassis as well. Tubes are all RCA. Tube complement is 2-7189's (high quality 6BQ5's), 2-12AX7, 5-6BA6, 1-6BE6, 2-6DT8, 1-6GH8A, 1-6AU6 and 1-6E5 tuning eye tube. Unit powers up and functions well. Will need some attention due to some background noise. Probably needs some recapping and cleaning. Tuning string will most likely need redone to accurately locate stations on the dial. Seems to be off some. Front panel lights working fine. Cosmetic condition excellent. Overall a very nice example of this vintage Trio receiver needing some minor tuning up for maximum performance. Sold as-is due to age and use.
