This is a gorgeous Loar-era Gibson F4 mandolin, in excellent condition. All original parts are included except the pickguard. The original and somewhat rare Virzi "tone producer" is intact. If you're looking at this you probably know how sought-after the Gibson mandolins from this time period are! I'm selling it for a friend because his arthritis prevents him from playing it anymore.
The dating is based on features, the headstock logo style, etc..., and was determined by the staff of the Denver Folklore Center when my friend bought it around 4-5 years ago. Unfortunately the serial/FON number is not legible on the interior label. It currently has Stewmac Golden Age replica tuners and a Fishman PRO-M20-0MA Classic Series M-200 Pickup installed. No truss rod, but the neck is straight. The original tuners and bridge are included. Non-original, high quality Superior hardshell case in very good condition. Also includes extra strings, a capo, string winder, electronic tuner, strap, and some picks.
It's in great condition, plays very well and sounds amazing. Sold as-is, no returns; ask all questions before purchase!
