Serial: 14271 Given the age of this instrument it plays and sounds awesome. It is obviously scuffed up all over the place. The back of the neck also has fairly large grooves where the fingers lay on the back of the neck. Possibly someone did this intentionally? There are a few cracks in the surface of the guitar and the belly is slightly bulged. The body is worn down near the area where a pick guard would normally be. The first couple of frets have some divots. None of these issues pose any playability issues and the guitar sounds awesome. It has clearly been a loved instrument for 100 years. 

This style of guitar was designed to be strung up with either nylon or gut string. Nathaniel had steel strings on it however over time this may lead to too much stress and require a neck re-set. It also appears the bridge has been replaced at some point in time as well as the tuning pegs. 

The guitar case this is housed in has a sticker that claims it is a 00-28 but it is actually a 0-28.
