AMAZING- and amazingly rare! This is a Steinberger GM7-12A 12-string guitar in FLAWLESS condition!
The only reason I don't list this as MINT is the white finish has yellowed/mellowed slightly over the decades of its life.
This is a factory original, USA-made Steinberger! Plastic is still on the rear access panel!
All components function flawlessly- switching and pickup selection are smooth & SILENT!
This one features the later, rounded version of the M-style 'bat-a-rang' body; the rarest and most sought after "7" pickup configuration- (HSH); and the "A" series active tone control- 2 stacked tone knobs with a 'noon' detent give precise control over low and high frequencies! Coil-splitting is activated on all humbucker-involved positions via the mini-toggle switch.
Wondering why you haven't seen more of these around? It's because there simply AREN'T ANY. Do the math with me: Out of the reported 200 factory-made trac-tuner 12-string bridges, likely one-third or more ended up on the more common 'paddle' shaped guitars; another third ended up on various double-neck instruments; leaving maybe 50-odd M-body-style 12-strings. Even if we divide that evenly in half between the earlier bound-bodies and the later contoured body instruments- that leaves this one in a very small pool of maybe 25 guitars! (And that says nothing about pickup configs and other variables!)
(And yes, I've replaced the 12th string!)
