Selling a super weird guitar here. This is a early 1900’s Gibson U-harp that was professionally converted to a 6 string jumbo acoustic. I’ve seen one other example of one of these and it was sold by Chicago music exchange years ago for $3500. There was supposedly a guy in the 30’s and 40’s that would convert the u-harps into these behemoth 6 string archtops. This guitar is in fairly good condition for its age and plays surprisingly well. However it does appear to have a headstock repair but not sure if that was just part of the conversion process. It has an insanely fat neck and a dark, woody, and bassy tone thanks to its whopping 18.5” lower bout and 3.5” body depth. I’ve mostly been using it as a display piece but I know someone out there could use it to get a very unique sound. It really is functional art and cool folk art piece. I do not have a case for it and couldn’t imagine what kind of case would fit it, but it will be well packed for whoever buys it. Please message me with any questions as I’m sure there will be quite a few. Thanks
