From Ren Ferguson's early days at Gibson, Bozeman Montana -- the serial number places its birthday on June 12, 1991.
Amazing tone, incredible projection. Head room and Bottom End like you'd expect from an AJ.
Guitar is at once loud (you can Pete-Townshend-windmill it without distortion, or flat-pick leads that really cut through the mix) and at the same time whisper quiet (fingerpicks nicely and is responsive to the gentlest strumming).
On top of all that, being 23+ years old, it's "played in" like you'd have to hear to believe.
• Back/Sides: Indian Rosewood • Top: Sitka Spruce • Fingerboard: Rosewood • Neck Wood: Mahogany • Bridge: Rosewood Straight • Scale: 25 1/2" • Nut Width: 1.72" • Body Depth @ Heel: 4 in. • Body Depth @Tail: 4 7/8 in. • Original Hard Shell Case - Brown with Pink Interior and Shroud. • K&K Mini pickup (not undersaddle!)
Condition is outstanding. Neck is straight and strong. Not a baseball bat, but a more pronounced C than more recent editions. With strings on, measures .99 at the 1st fret and 1.05 at the 9th. Really substantial and comfortable.
Frets fabulous. Some minor pick swirls and a hint of finish checking (more like creases) on the top. The back has surface scratches. The pick-guard is slightly shrunken. That said, you would not look at this guitar and rate it below 8.5 out of 10. I replaced the bridge pins, but the original plastic ones are in the case. Also installed a pickup. Everything else is original.
