About This Listing

I have an outstanding left handed G&L SB-1 here made in Fullerton CA. This one is a recent 2020 specimen, and comes with it's deluxe G&G hardcase and factory paperwork. I have included a close up pic of the full specs as well. Also note the original sales purchase receipt is included with the warranty card not filled out yet.

This G&L Bass is in fantastic condition. And is easy to describe. I will summarize it for you.

There are no dings, indentations, worming, buckle rash or even any penetrating finish scratches present here. I found perhaps 3 or so faint superficial surface scuffs. Not scratches or even pattern swirling, just faint superficial surface level minute scuff marks.

The neck looks like the body. Which is clean from top to bottom. The frets show no fretwear. The electronics are working perfectly like they should.

In total i will rate this one a 9.7/10 and grade it as excellent. This bass has seen perhaps 25 hours of playtime i would estimate and has not been gigged or abused. This is a clean, crisp specimen very close conditionally to a brand new one. There are no noteworthy marks and extremely minimal superficial signs of any use at all. The gloss finish shows no signs of fading or loss of brilliance. Ditto for the hardware. This is an excellent specimen for someone contemplating buying a new one, but open to getting an clean recently made used one.

This is essentially the G&L version of a Precision bass. Unique to this bass is the 6 screw neck joint as most basses have 4. The neck joint is structurally the most important part of the guitar and it is sonically a point of sound transfer. This definitely is part of the LB-100 tone. The 6 screws makes for a tighter fit which aids tonal transfer and also note that the neck fits deeper into the body not unlike long vs short tenon necks when comparing glued in set necks. I think the 6 screws is a great idea and so did Leo Fender. It is not small, but it feels nimble.

Tonally i find that it is very articulate. Not a booming powerhouse bass. But very articulate and balanced. It has a nice rich woody tone. G&L pickups to my ears have always leaned toward chime with clean tones, transparency , and sweet bell like overtones. I notice this bass stays cleaner with preamp gain more than my others basses. I find that it also sounds a little "faster" than other P-basses i compare it to. The notes respond quickly. Overall it is a bass connoisseur's ton. This is a tone that you can really hear subtle nuances in.

Overall i think it's a great bass for the money $$. It's pure traditional quality. It honestly feels like the builders did not make a price "bracketed" guitar but made the best bass guitar they were capable of making. I feel that way about G&L USA across the board. I have always been impressed by them.

NOTE that currently Sales Tax will be charged in most states and Reverb has opted to cancel the External website that allowed for Tax free checkout. This was very popular and is missed. To those inquiring about any Tax free options. Because of this i am selling on other platforms and social media without Tax. But i cannot steer and guide you to them out of respect and compliance to Reverb. If you want a guitar on Reverb you have most likely will pay state sales tax so factor that into your purchase.

This guitar will be carefully packed, with sufficient filler and bracing in the shipping box and if needed a little in the case. I will detune the strings about one half a step prior to shipment. Another step i take is i will denote for it to be shipped "standing" with arrows drawn on the outer box and it will be marked fragile as well. It will be meticulously packed.

Thank you for reading and considering!
