About This Listing
The Bond Electraglide is a carbon fiber electric guitar manufactured by Bond Guitars between 1984 and 1985. It leeks on a matte-black, 3-pickup Gibson Melody Maker (the 1962 version double cut-away), with a unique stepped phenolic resin fingerboard in place of the traditional frets. Pickup switch, volume and tone controls are fully digital, thanks to a large internal motherboard. 3 selected pickups via five push buttons; volume, treble and bass are numerically amplified via digital toggle switches, confirmed by a three-color LED readout. The guitar required an external power pack and, given the state of the art at the time, was bulky; it never really caught on in the market and 1,400 guitars were made. The Edge uses his Bond on The Joshua Tree album. This guitar in near mint condition (see photos)
