Up for sale is a beautiful rendition of a 1959 Les Paul by Eastman Guitars. This is a super high quality Guitar with solid one piece body construction. No modern polyurethane finish on this – the V in the model name refers to the hand - applied varnish finish applied to the guitar. I am pretty sure the “GB” in the model number refers to Gold Burst. Also added to the guitar is some realistic relic-ing. I have included photos to show this. Eastman is well known for a history of quality violins, mandolins, and they eventually started making guitars. The minute you hold it in your hands you feel the quality of the workmanship. It was made in January 2021 and equipped with Lollar Imperial pickups - some of the best that I have played. The guitar was equipped with Kluson tuners with aged pegs. The bridge and saddle also have a very slight patina to imply a guitar from 1959. The volume and tone knobs match the originals, complete with metal markers. As much as I wanted to keep the guitar looking like a ‘59, I decided to swap out the tuners with modern Kluson locking tuners, with a slightly aged look to the pegs. I also swapped out the knobs for Ibanez speed knobs. These match the guitar and have a rubber ring on them to make easy adjustments on the fly. Of course, the original tuners and knobs will be included with the guitar (very easy to swap it out). I have included a picture of them. The guitar has a bone nut. The guitar’s hard shell case can almost be described as luxury. It has a really cool texture (almost like suede) and thick interior projection. I am also including a nice leather strap that can be seen in the photos.
The guitar plays and sounds fantastic. I was not familiar with the Lollar Imperial pickups (other than the fact that they were premium) but they provide that authentic PAF tone. The guitar has wonderful sustain and when plugged into a Marshall, you get that familiar rich tone.
The only reason I am selling this guitar is to thin out my collection some (having two kids in college has a little something to do with it too!)
I have about $2100 invested in the guitar. The only issue that needs to be noted is the fact that there is some belt buckle rash on the back of the guitar. I had these touched up and it sort of blends with the relic-ing done when the guitar was finished.
I have listed the guitar for what I consider to be a fair price; but I will consider a reasonable offer.
Included with the guitar is lifetime warranty certificate so the buyer will be able to be the first to register it.
The weight of the guitar is just under 8 lbs (3.6 kg).
