The One Control Baltic Blue Fuzz OC-BBFn pedal is designed to recreate the legendary tone of a vintage Electro-Harmonix Big Muff Pi in an impossibly small, high-quality package, perfect for even the most crowded pedal board. This new generation fuzz circuit is not a Big Muff clone, but shares a similar topology. While most pedal builders would replicate the sound using rare and sometime unreliable vintage or NOS components, this One Control / BJF Series design from boutique effects guru Bjorn Juhl utilizes an Op-Amp with multiple amplifying stages and filters, as well as modern matched components, to ensure the highest quality tone and reliability standards.
To get an idea of the sounds possible from the OC-BBFn, imagine the original Big Muff tone combined with that of the Triangle and Ram’s Head iterations. That is then tuned and filtered to create a crisp, tight, punchy and detailed sound great for that classic, powerful feedback, but without the annoying “peakiness”.
BJF also added a Tone control to the BALTIC BLUE FUZZ that is incomparably easier to use than the vintage original model. It is designed in a way so that guitar tones can be adjusted in the full knob range without compromise. Just turn the Tone knob to find the sound you want.
