Better than new! I am including 24 of my favorite/most used IRs in the B52 slot (a mic I never really used when actually micing cabs myself) the cost of those 3rd party IRs alone more than justifies the price (the sheet is included in the box)
You can easily take it back to stock if you like but as I said that was never really a mic choice I preferred.
This unit was never gigged and has only been used in my studio with fantastic results!
Great for headphone jamming as well as recording. You can plug this into the pedal board and use it without an amp although I mostly used it with the line out of an attenuator on my Marshall Plexi so I didn't have much use for the amp simulation. If you have an FX loop you can also run the FX SEND into the NuX and have no need for the power amp simulation.
There is also a built in amp section and despite its obvious design similarity to the Strymon Irridum this unit was actually available 2 years before that came out.
I liked this unit better than the Moer Radar as its extremely easy to navigate. When hooked to a computer you can easily load any 3rd party IRs and you're ready put it on your board and go.
You can also create your own IRs with this unit, although I have never gone that far with it. The included cabs and mics were great but the ones I loaded were my favorites.
There are 2 small strips of velcro on the back. I was going to remove them but you'd probably just put some back on anyway. I was sure to leave the serial number and data accessible.
One more thing to note while there is a speaker switch on these units please be aware of two things.
1- THIS IS NOT A LOAD BOX! If you're going to place it after your amp it still needs to be connected to a cabinet!
2- YOU MUST USE A SPEAKER CABLE IF YOU DO THIS
The idea is you can still use your amp and cab set up at a gig but send a virtual cab to the mixer.
Because if this I will not accept returns period! Too many people have watched Ola's "will it chug" video and blown up their amps and damaged the unit because they did not read the instructions and use the proper cables.
I used this unit yesterday it works perfect. I am only selling this because I just bought a Torpedo Captor -X and have no need for it
Manufacturer Data
Solid Studio was created to address: limited gear availability, and the cumbersome transport reality of physical amp/speaker cabinets.
Over many years of research, Solid Studio was specifically developed to fill the essential needs of discerning musicians and sound technicians, including the art of mic-ing instrument amplifiers on stage or in the studio. Solid Studio provides ease-of-use, reliability, versatility, and, above all, incredible audio quality.
Virtual mic-ing is achieved by choosing 1 cabinet and 1 microphone, and fine-tuning the position of the microphone using the mic position switch. Plus, you can add the tube sound by engaging the power amp simulation.
