This is a beautiful neck-through bass built in Minneapolis by Roger Benedict in 1992. The body is semi hollow being carved out in the top half weighing in at 8lbs. 2oz. The brass nut, 1.50" wide, was installed by Benedict to accommodate the 0.136" diameter 'B' string without breaking out. The neck has a 'C' shape to it with snowflake markers on the fret board. The pickups are EMG, one J-Bass type and a set of P-Bass type and the bass has active electronics. The first picture shows the nice deep yellow color of the body, the other pictures might make it look faded out, but it's not. The last picture shows the only one ding on the whole guitar. I added three more pictures to show the color better. Comes with custom C&G tweed case.
Currently has a new set of Thomastik-Infeld Flat Wound Jazz Bass strings. This was a 5 string set, not using the 'G' string. Neck setup and fret dressing was done by Dave Rusan of Rusan Guitarworks in Minneapolis. Dave was the designer and builder of the original Cloud guitar for Prince that was used in the movie Purple Rain and he still continues to build several Cloud guitars a year.
Benedict built Jonny Lang's guitars. Check out BenedictGuitar.com for more info and a list of some of the other artists using Benedict guitars.
