Up for sale is my personal 1982 Guild Mark V, that is in remarkably good condition for a guitar its age. It features a sitka spruce top, East Indian rosewood sides and back, and an ebony fretboard. I am only the second owner, and it has only left my house once in the 10 years I've owned it, and that was for a recent setup by my luthier. I'd call this guitar "mint", but I've learned not to do that after a bad experience with a previous listing. It has one tiny chip along the binding on the treble front side of the lower bout, and two even tinier impressions on the beautifully tight grained spruce top that were impossible to photograph.
What separates the Mark V, VI, and VII from their lesser stablemates in the Guild Mark line is that these are pro grade instruments, which master luthier Carlo Greco modeled after the Ramirez 1A, with the traditional "Spanish Heel" method of construction. The Mark I, II, II, and IV use a more conventional dovetail neck joint. By most accounts from folks whose opinions I trust, these guitars hold their own quite well against the Ramirez, and for a fraction of the cost. Interestingly enough, this guitar was custom ordered by the original owner with fretboard markers on the 5th, 7th, 9th, and 12th frets, which makes it a bit unique. Included is a non-original hard shell case that isn't of the highest quality, but does a good job of protecting the instrument.
There are not a whole lot of these guitars out there, and the ones that are don't come up for sale often, so if you're thinking about one, don't let this one get away. You will also have a very hard time finding one in this condition. I will entertain offers, but will cheerfully disregard lowballs, as what I'm listing it for represents pretty much what I have into it. And if you want an equivalent, Ramirez, prepare to spend four times as much or more. Shipping is to the lower 48 states only. I will consider shipping internationally, or to Alaska or Hawaii, but please message me for a shipping quote.
