The Fender Musicmaster was introduced in 1956 as the company's most affordable, stripped back option, aimed at the student market. Since then it has found favor with musicians for its comfortable short-scale feel and classic Fender single-coil chime. This guitar was built before the company was sold to CBS, featuring the same materials, workmanship, and craftspeople that made the legendary early Fender guitars that fetch for upwards $100,000.

This 3/4 size 1961 pre-CBS Fender masterpiece features a rare lightweight solid Alder body, 22.5" short scale length, and single slant-mounted brown Bakelite covered pickup at the neck, and features the desirable early Brazilian slab rosewood fingerboard and clay dots.

It is hard to find one of these vintage Fender Musicmaster guitars complete with 100% real players wear and an original nitro finish on the neck. This guitar is mostly original except for a recent refinish in old style Dakota red nitro lacquer (dark checking and light relic wear). All electronics are original including black bobbin neck pickup and 1959 dated CTS pots. The neck plate and Kluson Deluxe cream button tuners are highly quality vintage accurate reissues.

The neck features its original nitro lacquer finish with lots of natural relic players wear and patina, and the desirable 22.5” short scale length and narrow “A“ nut width of 1.5”. The bone nut is original and all 21 vintage frets are in good playing condition. The Brazilian Rosewood fretboard looks incredible with classic 7.25” vintage radius, real clay dots top and 50/50 split side dots. The medium C profile has .74 / .95” thickness.
