Ever wondered how eletronic instrument power house Elektron got their start? Here it is! The humble little Sid Station was released by the upstart company in 1999, and was produced with a few interruptions until 2006. What interruptions, you ask? Well, at the heart of the Sid Station is the MOS 6581 SID chip, the core of the sound engine in the Commodore 64 computer. These chip are no longer available, and Elektron's production schedule was related to stock of the discontinued chips. This synth is a digital, chiptune, video game and otherwise aliased monster, which puts the 1980's sound set of the Commodore under MIDI control. This synth is in fine physical condition, and includes the original box. A replacement PSU is included with the unit, which fits well, but the PSU inlet is a little sensitive. The factory sound set was reloaded and everything sounds like it should: your childhood.
