All of my kits feature "Vintage/50s" style wiring
This set features Vintage Taper volume pots and Short shafts (3/8")
My goal with this harness is to do the hard part for you...
soldering to backs of pots, while giving you an alternative ground point so that you never have to solder to backs of pots.
My kits were featured on the Doug & Pat Youtube show, see attached video for discussion at 14:55 and demos starting at 33:25.
What's inside:Volume Pots: 2 X CTS 500K "Vintage Taper" (custom made by CTS)
- 500K Ohm Vintage audio taper to match the taper of the vintage CENTRALAB pots found in 50s LPs
- 70:30 sweep (more gradual volume sweep than "audio taper" pots)
- If you're not sure what "Vintage Taper" is all about, "Contact Seller" and I'll forward you my FAQ which Reverb does not allow me to link here. There is no tone difference between regular and vintage taper pots.
Tone Pots: 2 X CTS 500K
All pots:
- Hand-picked and metered for uniform performance
- High quality solid brass bushings
- Flat back case
- C-Clip reinforced shaft
- 1/4 inch diameter, requires 3/8 inch mounting hole, 24 fine-tooth knurl
- Include hardware: nut (1), star washer (1) & dress washer (1)
Capacitors: New Old Stock Russian "Paper in Oil" K40Y-9
- Heat shrink insulated leads
- By default .022 (bridge) and .015 (neck) like Clapton's "woman tone" setup
- Option: Ask for 0.010uF if you want to brighten a particularly dark pickup
Ground wire: 18 AWG tinned copper annealed wire
Solder: Premium Made in USA

Which type of wiring harness do I need?- Fits single cut Les Paul style guitars with 4 knobs (doesn't fit SGs, double-cuts or Juniors)

- pre-1977 production Gibson Standard, Custom, Deluxe
- Historic R4/R5/R6/R7/R8/R9/R0

- Long Shafts:
- 1977 - current Gibson Standard, Traditional, Classic, Studio, Faded, Custom, Deluxe
- 50s & 60s Tribute
- Historic '68 Custom RI
- 1977-1982 Pro
- Epiphone Elite/Elitist
- If you're not sure, Long is a safe bet, use the nuts to adjust height
- Zero tone difference between Long and Short pots
