For Sale*** 1983 Kramer Focus 1000 (Early Pacer Features)
This is a hard to find, I’d even go as far as Rare (hate that word, so overused on stuff that isn’t) early version of the Focus 1000. It’s not just the Beak headstock that’s a giveaway to it being an early model, but the sunk in barrel jack (as opposed to jack plate), the USA Pacer style control cavity routing (as opposed to the usual later oblong style), the wide 6 digit no letter prefix backplate, the non-slanted humbucker like on a USA Pacer Special, and the factory volume, tone, and split coil switch. These early body’s also aren’t as flat on the bottom and have more of a curvature to them much like the USA bodies. These early Focus bodies are identical to a USA Pacer and are hard to come by just like the Focus “Grail” bodies with the triangle control cavity route.
This guitar currently has a SD JB in the bridge, but the original pickup (or at least the one that was in it when I got it) comes with it. Kramer had some SD inspired pickups in the Focus line so I’d assume this is something to that, but no markings. Comes with the backplate and screws as well. The spit coil switch does not work, because I personally never would use it, so when the pickup was swapped the switch was disconnected and is still there for the look since it’s an original feature to the guitar. Some scratches and minor imperfections here and there, but for almost 40 years old, still screams! Has a Kramer case with a replacement garbage handle.
Frets have plenty of life, action is very low and is an easy player. I’m coming up to 15 years of owning this guitar and I’m hesitant to let it go because these almost never come up and if they do, they aren’t in as nice of shape. If it sells, it’ll be sold as is and packaged professionally with full insurance with signature. Any other questions don’t hesitate to ask!
