Stenger Guitars TL-1 "Maverick" 2021

This TL-1 is named Maverick.  The mid-weight Ash body features forearm and belly contours, and has a thin, open-grained nitro finish over a suspended white pigment wash.  Both the Ash and the Honduras Mahogany neck are highly resonant, and the Ebony fretboard is smooth, fast, and gorgeous. The pickups are custom hand wound Gemini Guyatone Goldfoil Tele in the neck position, and Gemini Suprocaster in the bridge position.  This is what Mark Knopfler is currently using, and I can honestly say that, in my years of experience, there isn't a finer sounding set of single coils out there.  Pickup selection is done by way of a 4-way switch, which allows for the three standard Tele selections, plus a series selection, which allows both pickups to be used wired as a traditional humbucker.  Tone is further bolstered by a Fender passive TBX tone control.  The TBX is a standard tone control in it's center detented position, and when maxed out and used with the humbucker position, you get a bold, high-output humbucker tone.  This thing covers a lot of ground tonally, sounding crisp and dynamic through a variety of amps.  It's got a very touch sensitive, articulate "3d" tone, and is equally at home with a Tweed, a Twin, a JCM800, or a Plexi.  Maverick ships to the continental US with a Reunion Blues Continental Voyager gig bag.  It's a very robust, premium case with a street price of $190.
