Description

The Custom Custom humbucker delivers that familiar alnico 2 warmth, along with the rich midrange harmonics of a hotter pickup. The result is a humbucker that sounds full, and sweet, and has a warm lower midrange growl that really brings chords to life. The Custom Custom has a fatter treble response than any other pickup, and that gives solos a round, sweet, singing quality. Great for adding fullness and warmth to any humbucker equipped instrument. Pair with the Jazz model, or Pearly Gates model in the neck for a balanced, versatile setup. Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Custom Custom model uses an alnico 2 bar magnet, nickel silver bottom plate, 4-conductor lead wire for multiple wiring options, and is vacuum wax potted for squeal-free performance.

Phat Cat Neck
Summary

A true P90 tone that is a drop-in replacement for any standard sized humbucker slot. No routing required.

Description

Originally developed in the Custom Shop for Hamer Guitars, the Phat Cat is a true single-coil P-90 Soapbar that fits under a humbucker cover and drops into humbucker-equipped guitars. You get all of the authentic neck position bounce and sparkle that youd expect from a vintage Gibson P90 Soapbar. Chords have lots of rich harmonics, and solos have that unique single coil springiness. It uses two Alnico 2 bar magnets for more sustain and softer attack. And, the metal covers provide more shielding and noise reduction than standard soapbar covers. The neck model is RWRP, reverse wind reverse polarity, from the bridge pickup to provide noiseless operation when used together.Pair with our Phatr Cat bridge model for a complete set, or combine with a humbucker in the bridge position for greater tonal variety.Hand built in Santa Barbara, CA, the Phat Cat uses dual alnico 2 bar magnets, custom nickel or gold cover, nickel silver bottom plate, and single-conductor braided hookup wire. Vacuum wax potted for squeal free operation.
