2009 Ibanez Artcore Archtop AF105SM-Exotic Explorerr
An exceptional instrument, the AF105SM-EE-12-01 is the fanciest of the Artcore Custom series hollow body electric guitars made by Ibanez in 2009, the last year they were produced. This AF105SM features a full-hollow body design with an arched spalted curly maple top with ƒ holes and cream multi-binding on an arched curly spalted maple back and sides with a single Venetian cutaway.
5-piece figured maple neck with a 22-fret figured light coloured rosewood fingerboard with natural black pen and ink markings, curly maple binding and pearl and abalone custom block position markers The finger board, top and back are all bound with curly maple and there is a curly maple heel plate.
Gold plated hardware.
The headstock has an ebony plate and a brown Rosewood truss rod cover inscribed with the word Custom in italics and it is also
bound in maple.
Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 58 Custom humbucking pickups with gold covers framed in dark rosewood, with individual volume and tone controls and a 3 position switch for selecting either or both pickups. There is a gold a Tune-o-matic style bridge on a matching brown rosewood base and a tailpiece with custom rosewood raised pick guard/fingerrest.
For 2009 the new and fanciest Exotic Explorer finish featured a vintage world maps, a sun and compass rose decal overlaid on the top figured and spalted maple top. The effect of this bold black antique appearing cartographic imagery on the spalted maple is a truly unique piece of art.
This guitar is in excellent to near mint condition in a new hard shell case.
