The PreSonus Eris E66 Active MTM Near Field
Monitors deliver accurate response, expanded frequency range, and the
widest stereo field available in their class. Thanks to the
nested MTM design, the E66 provide an ultra-wide, detailed stereo
soundstage and a more consistent listening experience on- and off- axis.
The benefits of MTM design
Sound
waves radiating from the high- and lowfrequency drivers in a
conventional design can create an inconsistent off-axis response,
coupling to create peaks at some frequencies while cancelling out
others, and narrowing the stereo image. By centering a large silk dome
tweeter between two smaller woofers that cover the same frequency range,
the E66 reduce component interference improving off-axis response and
spatial resolution. The result is a more consistent listening
experience, smoother frequency response, and an ultrawide, detailed
stereo sound stage.
Combined with Kevlar LF transducers
In
addition to its clean sound and punchy bass, the weave and nature of
the Kevlar design in the dual Eris E66 woofers also works to break up
any reflected energyso fewer delayed reflections reach the listeners
ear, resulting in a less colored, more cohesive sound. These dual
woofers operate in parallel within the same frequency range, acting to
minimize phase displacement to afford a much wider sweet spot, improved
spatial resolution, and optimal stereo imaging.
