When acoustic guitar innovators Ovation decided to build an electric guitar they did it their own way! After luring many electric players to an easy to play professional acoustic with a neck and construction like no other,
For a short period of time, they took on the big guns of the electric guitar world. It didn't last, but what they made was very interesting and they are worthy of the modern guitarist's attention.
The Breadwinner "Flying Axe" styling divided opinion, but the soft double-cutaway Preacher is a good looking guitar. Featuring Stereo and Mono outputs and a pair of "Double Coil) pickups (Claimed to be 20db quieter than conventional single coils )
The tone circuit on this guitar is really impressive. Lots of sweep allowing a huge range of tones. Couple this to its true Stereo features there is a lot that the player can do with this instrument.
The engineering employed is of a very high standard, the solid bridge assembly houses individually adjustable brass saddles. A double octave neck that is in great shape and very playable. The frets are polished and also in good shape.
The headstock is that wonderful "Ovation style" as seen on their acoustics and the machine heads are smooth and stable.
Sure, it has a few dings and scratches but all in keeping with its age. In terms of its condition, we would describe it as very good.
A very playable action and nice polished frets, this guitar is a player.
An affordable and versatile vintage guitar.
Sold with a non-original hard case
