For your consideration, an extremely rare Standard N.T.L.S 5 string Bass from British master craftsman Roger Giffin.

During his tenure as a master builder at the Gibson Custom Shop, Giffin was involved in the production of guitars for legends such as Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page amongst others. He became independent in 1997 and launched his own brand, Giffin Guitars. The "luthier to the stars" has subsequently made instruments for the likes of Pete Townshend, John Entwistle, Mark Knopfler, David Gilmour, the list goes on.  At the beginning of launching his own brand, this instrument, the Standard NTLS 5st Bass, wasn't  available to the general public. He was making instruments strictly on a made to order basis and at the time was focusing on guitars so basses were not on offer.  In this production year, only one 4 string and one 5 string model basses were produced for exhibition at trade shows. This particular bass is the one 5 string model produced that year and as such is literally one of a kind!

This guitar was part of a collection and rarely played. It has the appearance of a new instrument with only some very, very slight aging to the hardware noticeable upon close inspection.
