This is a late 1960's Maestro - Rythym 'n Sound for Guitar model G-1 for guitar.

Serial No. 03839

It has the ability to make both percussion and bass (octave under) and organ (fuzz )type sounds, using the guitar as a controller/trigger. In addition you can get 3 types of filters on the guitar tone and either use them together or separate from the original guitar signal.

This item is in decent shape. Unfortunately I do not have the original case these came with. Price reflects that. I believe this unit is from 1968 or 1969.

This model does not have the "WOW WOW" and "ECHO REPEAT" effects. They came with the G-2 model. Instead, this G-1 has a total of 3 COLOR TONE (or filters) toggle switches. These sound great with the NORMAL AMP toggle (original signal bypass) at the same time.

The fella (not me) in the YouTube video does an excellent demonstration. However, the unit he is using has the "WOW WOW" and "ECHO REPEAT" effects. Again, this unit does not have those effects. They came with the G-2 model.

It's a lot of fun to use. Works best if you have a looper pedal as well, so you can create some loops to jam to. If you use multiple switches at once, you can adjust the tones and volume level of the drums/percussion, bass, and guitar separately with the control knobs above the toggle switches.

NOTE: When it comes to the Drum/Percussions and Bass effects triggering, it has a sensitivity control knob. I find that the unit work best with a guitar pickup that is either single coil, or rolling off the volume a bit on a hotter humbucker style pickup. Having a hotter guitar pickup (depending on the guitar) could make the triggering squirrelly. However, that may be desired, if you like a weird off-time almost syncopated type thing.

The unit has been cleaned inside and out, the best I could. It has surface scratches here and there. I tried to capture that in the photos. The body screws have some surface rust; particularly the top right screw. You can see it in one of the photos. I do not believe they are the original screws since they are flathead. The original screws were black and phillips head (don't quote me on that though). I have also cleaned around the input jacks a bit better; photos were taken prior.
