This is not a cheap, typical Stratocaster. It's an American Deluxe Strat with a maple neck and an ash body, not alder. It's a little heavier and more resonant than alder, and the wood grain showing through the tobacco sunburst finish is really beautiful.
The pickups are Noiseless N3s with the S-1 switch in the center of the volume pot. The tonal variance among the pickup settings is pretty dramatic, especially for a Strat.
I bought this new about a year and a half ago, and haven't played it very much in that timeframe. It's been through perhaps 5 string changes and one fret leveling. I've got it set up for the David Gilmour ghs "blue" set (10-48), and I've added two extra tremolo springs.
Aside from the normal uncolored pick scratches on the pickguard and pickup covers, there is one chip in the finish on the heel close to the neck (shown in the photo of the neck joint, if you look very carefully). Never been "gigged" or even traveled-with. Original SKB case and all original materials (tools, manuals, strap, strap locks, etc. as shown in the photos) are included.
