This 17" Jazz Laureate Model acoustic archtop was made in 2020. The top is German spruce, and the sides and back are Koa. For many years I've made archtops with several kinds of curly maple, and also Koa. The koa is a more complex tone than the more fundamental tone of maple. The overtones are clearer and more pronounced than any maple I've used. Of the approximate 450 archtops I've made, I do think that my favorites are made with Koa back and sides. This guitar has a big, well balanced acoustic tone. No pickup. (one could be added if requested - price depends on type of pickup).
