About This Listing

For sale is a 1964 Gibson EB-3 bass guitar. This one has a glowing cherry red finish with just the right amount of checking. The pickups sound good with that low end thump that just fits right into a mix. The neck is straight, the action is perfect, and this instrument is very comfortable to play, weighing in at under 7 1/2 pounds. It has some repaired cracks on the lower body near the control cavity (see pictures), but is structurally solid with no neck or headstock breaks. There is some wear to the back of the neck that you would expect from a 55+ year old bass. It has been played but not abused. It is missing the mute and the thumb rest has been switched to where it logically should be. This bass is original and would be $4500.00 without the minor repair to the lower body. Because of this repair, we are asking $3500.00. It will come in a newer form fitted case. This bass is beautiful, I hope my pictures do it justice. Thanks.
