The Accuphase P-500L is a vintage high-fidelity power amplifier that was released in Japan in 1989, during the “Golden Era” of Japanese high-fidelity audio equipment. The unit is remarkable for both its highly advanced circuit engineering and the high quality of the components used in its construction. The technical specs of the P-500L are impressive, featuring a front stage MOS FET equivalent to a non-switching class-A drive, in cascode push-pull composition. The pre-stage has a class-A cascode push-pull composition as well. The output stage as a result has very low distortion and is stable in loading.
