Hondo II 2 P Bass Late 70s Black Rare

Here’s a rare hondo ii p bass made in Korea, probably circa 1979-81 in black. It’s definitely got some character!
It’s all in working condition, there’s quite a few dings and scrapes commensurate with age, the worst being a lovely gouge on the back of the neck (check photos). It’s totally stable and purely cosmetic though, and doesn’t affect playability whatsoever. There’s also a split in the pickguard on the top left side, which I’ve just stuck down rather than try to repair, it’s not going anywhere. I’ve completely re wired it with vintage push back cloth wiring, the pickups are working well and have a nice sound to them, I believe they’re the originals. The thumb rest and bridge cover are non original but would’ve been on there originally, and there looks to be 2 non original tuners on the back. But all work as they should!
I’ve given it a real good clean, service and a fret polish, and set it up to fender factory specs. It’s got a nice low action on it, but there is a little bit of buzz on the g string at the 7th fret. A slightly higher action sorts it right out though. The frets have plenty of life left, no serious dents, but they are looking a little low. Fine for another few years but you may want to look into replacement after that!
Dual action truss rod works perfectly, all in all a nice looking and sounding old bass with some charm!
No case, but as always will be packed safely and securely for postage, or collection in Huddersfield is also welcomed.
