Maton Starline 4606 2013 Black

This guitar (serial #32) is the ONLY Black model Maton made for their own showroom and is in MINT condition. The Starline was championed by Australian Jazz great, George Golla who went on to become Bill May's personal friend and Maton's ambassador. George (now in his 80's) is shown with this guitar in the pics attached.

Originally produced in the 1940's, the Starline was Maton's flagship model and was highly prized by guitarists of the time. The guitar has a hollow-bodied f-hole design, with a 16” wide sound box and solid carved spruce face. And features fine detailing such as the ebony fingerboard with mother-of-pearl block inlays and the 9th fret inlay is engraved with Maton founder Bill May’s signature. The 12th fret inlay is engraved with the words “Anniversary”. This spectacular guitar is one for the collectors of rare and special instruments.
