JTV-69 S James Tyler Variax Custom Body and Pickguard (Project)

Up for sale is a custom natural finish jtv 69 SSS body, with a custom made walnut pickguard. Natural hand rubbed finish. Pictures of an assembled complete guitar are only for reference purposes.This was a custom paint strip job from an original body. This listing is for a body and Pickguard only. There is a neck available in one of my other ads that was intended for this project, which you can see in the above pictures. I have this neck listed in another one of my listings. Finally I have some pictures of the pickguard mounted to a rosewood neck and a tortoise shell pickguard for reference, as neither the tortoise shell pickguard nor the rosewood neck are included in the sale.

The process of making the body went as follows: After stripping and assessing the suitability for staining, I ended up with a walnut stain and used three coats of Minwax Antique Oil (hand-rubbed boiled linseed oil similar to Tru-Oil) for the final finish. It's a FANTASTIC satin finish that is light and has a great feel. These potato-quality phone photos don't quite capture how deep the grain looks in person. And I love how the satin body contrasts with the gloss pickguard.

This is a great custom strip and refin, one of a kind, and it comes with an excellently crafted pickuard that I had custom made in Greece. This listing is for a body and Pickguard only.
