A highly regarded take on the classic Airline Map, we are excited to have this Tanglewood Deluxe from Metropolitan. This is in superb condition with hardly any indicators of it's near 25 years of age. This cool Seafoam green finish is nice and light with just a hair of sparkle mixed in, which would make an excellent showcase guitar for any player. Only a few lite nicks around the edge present. These are no longer in production, and featured some very nice design elements, including a Basswood body with a set one-piece Mahogany neck. It has a unique raised top on the body, and a floating bridge design that is screwed into the body. It has very nice sustain for this design, and a great chunky rock & roll tone. These Metropolitan's have art deco inspired hardware that is unique to this already classic design - and they are nice and heavy duty. This example is fitted with Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90's, and includes the original Rio Grande Texas (N) & BBQ (Br) pickups that these had stock. The electronics have a simple lay out, with their independent tone controls located above the 6th string with a typical 3-way switch, and the independent volumes in the normal location.
The neck is in great shape with nice even low action, which measures 4/64" at the twelfth fret. The frets show no signs of wear, and the indian rosewood is a nice defined piece with no wear throughout. The neck is a comfortable C profile that measures .83" thick at the first position to 1" thick at the twelfth position. Uniquely, the nut width measures between 1 11/16" and 1 3/4" (about 1 47/64" for the spec oriented folks) - making this a really comfortable candidate for any strummers or fingerpickers. It has a comfortable 25" scale, and has very nice Grover tuners.
Comes with the original hard shell case which is in great shape. Weighs 9.4lbs
