Wide Sky Guitars: PL1, a Gibson L1 replica

The PL1, is a replica of the iconic 100 year old Gibson L-1. Originally a carved top I’ve braced this version and given it a tighter top radius of 15’ to give it more of an arch top look. I’ve also carved a thinner, more playable neck than the baseball style necks found on the originals. I’ve also made a deeper body, similar to the “Nick Lucas Special” era of Gibson.

Red Cedar top, Sapele back and sides, Mahogany neck, Ebony fret board and bridge, Black Pearl inlay, Relic Waverly tuners and a French polish. 1-3/4" nut. French polish finish. Removable Maple black pick guard. Custom TKL brown alligator case.

The guitar pictured is the one that I have currently available. I also offer the PL1 with a Natural finish or a Tobacco Bust.
