The Dirt….We have taken the classic Rodent circuit and turned it on its head. The first gain stage is very much like the classic, but soft clipping with 12 Volts of peak to peak headroom and a gain of 1000. There is toggle that controls the bandwidth of this gain stage: classic, bass, more bass. The second gain stage is a lower headroom of 9 volts peak to peak with a gain of about 10. Frequency response of the second stage is set around 500HZ, for some strong mids. The gain knob controls both stages together. These 2 stages are overdrives that get amp like tones, with a ton of gain and volume on tap, but a good overall sweep. The Tonestack…We have high jacked a Bassman / 2203 styled tonestack and inserted it after these 2 op amp stages. The big reason we made those gain stages so potent is to drive the tonestack into something that works like an amps would. Controls are classic Low, Mid, and High.Controls are: Low, Mid, High, Gain, Volume and shape toggle. Finally, there is a JFET recovery stage for more gain, sparkle and harmonic grind. Pedal is true bypass, with classic clicked footswitch. Output is buffered, to play well with whatever is next in the chain.
