I bought this guitar three years ago in the hopes of turning it into a David Gilmour style Stratocaster, hoping to hit his late 80s to early 90s tone. It’s does it very well. It has an Alder body with maple neck and fretboard medium jumbo frets. But of course I upgraded it.
Overview of the upgrades: EMG sa single coils with 5 way switch, one volume, one tone, and 12db mid boost knob to turn the sound from sweet to mean. Black locking GFS tuners Tusq string retainers A Wilkinson 6point vintage bridge Switch craft jack Steel and brass bolts to attach body to neck
That neck bolts are a fantastic upgrade not only do they allow you to remove the neck as often as you like without wearing the screw hole out but because it makes sure that the neck and body are attached a very tight fashion. It enables more string energy to be transferred from the neck through to the body increasing sustain and improving resonant tone. It may seem like a subtle difference but definitely improves an inexpensive guitar to a feeling of a much more expensive guitar
Will come packed in an older gig bag (for packing purposes only it’s not a great bag) and boxed with insurance carefully with plenty of cardboard for rigidity.
