1976 Woodson W-150-1 Head and 1-15-WB Cabinet

This amp was made in Bolivar, Missouri. It is very simply laid out. Two channels, each has volume, bass, treble, and a presence switch (on/off). The speaker is a 15" CTS Squareback ceramic from 1976. Installation of a JBL D140 or EVM15L would improve this amp.
We fully tested the amp and its own channels sound nice. It can serve for either guitar or bass. Gets a solid state snappy tone for bass. For guitar it gives gorgeous, lush swells in clean. When driven hard the output transistors do a nice job of producing tone that is what you'd expect from any guitar amp. It sounds good.
We did put an overdrive in front of the amp and it did an excellent job of producing really good tone. It also got louder. We were impressed. For a solid state amp by a little-known boutique maker to sound this good is surprising. The TB tone stack actually works very well, giving the user a wide range of different tones to play with. Multiple inputs give you the option of jumpering for even more possibilities.

Condition: The amp is in Very Good condition, with a few nicks to the tolex and very little noticeable wear.

Online information about this company is scarce. It is said to have operated in the late 60s and early 70s, for about 6 years. It is also referred to as a cousin of Kustom amps, claiming that parts were somewhat interchangeable.
This sounds to us a lot like a Kustom.

We received this message from a friendly Reverb user:
“Amps were made actually by Bud Ross's brother in law. Parts were interchangeable on many items as they used the same parts source. The 150-1 amp is actually 75 watts. They are numbered just like a Kustom, the output is half of the model number (150). I worked there for a while in the '70's. Cheers Rick”

The cabinet is on casters, and those casters are bolted to a frame. It is about 60 lbs., just the cabinet. Better have a good back, or good roadies, the sound is worth it.

Sold As-Described, As-Is.

No shipping, but if you want it shipped you may arrange for your own shipping provider to pick up the amp.
