Here's a gorgeous new custom Grez Mendocino. This particular guitar has lots of little details and upgrades that accentuate the natural beauty of the Old Growth Redwood, Quilt-Figured top. Barry put a beautiful Dark Burst finish on this instrument, which just pops with the dark Ebony board and grained ivoroid binding. You don’t see many of these with a bound neck, which gives the guitar an extra classy esthetic. There’s ivoroid binding around the top of the body as well.

The Mendocino typically comes standard with either Lollar Gold-Foils or Imperial Humbuckers. However this Custom Mendocino has Curtis Novak Gold Foils installed. While they maintain the open, airy and balanced tone of the Lollar Gold Foils, they have a more focused, articulate clean tone and some extra bite and output when overdriven or pushing a tube amp. Novak is known for winding extremely authentic sounding and looking vintage-spec Gold Foil reproduction pickups; so these fit the bill perfectly and look beautiful at the same time.

Other upgrades include a 1-piece back, ivoroid around the handmade wooden knobs, MOP fingerboard inlays and Nickel/Silver Jumbo fret wire. The guitar plays with ease and has a sophisticated, highly chambered semi-hollow voice, both acoustically or plugged in. A phenomenal build all around.
