Like most Flaxwood Aijas, this example is aged to sandblasted, industrial perfection, with several areas of rustic patches that definitely set it apart from your typical glossy black EMG-equipped Schecter and ESP. As expected, these actives (81/85) will slam your amp's input and peel the paint off your walls but it's so much more than a sawed off shotgun. You can dial back the carnage and actually get some nice smooth jazz tones from it so despite the looks, it's no one-trick pony. An absolute joy to play with a neck that simply has to be felt to be appreciated. A comfortable 12-degree radius of pure flaxwood with rolled edges, jumbo frets, 23mm at the 12th with a neck feel that is as smooth as a freshly waxed Koenigsegg. The fingerboard feels like ebony and ask anyone who has played these Finnish beauties. Flaxwood make some of the finest necks in the business.
