Violin, 4/4, Nippon label, c. 1910 ----- PRICED REDUCED TO SELL!!!
Has official
“Made in Nippon” label and Strad copy “1700”
label.
Germany gave
up production of Strad copies during WW1. The Suzuki Company gathered makers
and produced under the “Made in Nippon” label. These have become highly praised
and valued violins.
Nice quality
spruce top and flamed maple back and sides. It appears to have the original sunburst
finish which is in wonderful condition with minor flaws. The geared tuners do
away with the need for tailpiece fine tuners. This beauty is nicely equipped
with new tailpiece and period chinrest with gel pad attached.
There is an
old repaired small hairline crack by the A tuner. The peg-hole has been bushed
to prevent further damage. There is an old, repaired 2” hairline crack in the
top near the bass side of the fingerboard.
It plays
great and sounds loud and lovely, even with inexpensive strings. The Nippon
quality sound prevails! Nicely set-up with new bridge.
Comes with
nice case and bow.
