I received this bass about 10 years ago from a friend . the pickups say 66 the neck is labeled 66 this truss rod adj is about out but the action is great. just got a setup here in Denver a few months ago. Is in great condition. I just don't play anymore..
the case says "Hello. my name is Johnny Rotten" label on it but I have have no idea if it was his, The person i received it from says it was on the case when he got it. The case is in great working order.
I have received some letters that may indicate this is all not original.. I just looked at neck stamp and pickups and the guy before me had it for30 plus years. i have no idea if it is original paint or not, thats how I received it, hope that helps..
case is original and has a sticker with Johnny rotten name on it. I have no idea if its his..
letter i received form good New message from: Just an FYI on your bass: that color looks very, very close to my Dakota Red Stratocaster from the same era. It's highly likely that is original paint, or somebody did an outstanding refinish job. Everything about the paint looks just like my old Strat; the sheen, the pickup cavity overspray, and the color... dead on. Hard to say with certainty without seeing it in person, but it would not surprise me a bit if that's the original paint. Dakota Red is quite scarce, but it's out there. Beautiful bass!
