This guitar started as a 1972 D-35-12. My understanding is that Martin put on a new neck (12 fret slotted headstock with torch inlay) and a new top (spruce sunburst with abalone around the top) in the 1980’s. It has some D-42 styling (torch headstock and snowflake inlay on the bridge). The abalone on the top is more D-41 style I’d say because it doesn’t wrap around the fretboard. Very, very unique instrument. Booming bass! Great for bluegrass. More recently it was refinished and set up with a bone nut and bridge by Bob Petersen at Angel Guitars. What it is, is a stunning one of a kind Martin. Comes with its original Martin hardshell case in rough shape. Two cracks on the top of the guitar from bridge to the bottom (pictured). One of the cracks is below the refinish, and the other is a hairline crack through the finish. It does have a truss rod and is just an all around fantastic guitar with a huge sound and beautiful tone.
